Re-Doing my sub/amp/box for my 2000 F150 - $1000 budget

Hey guys, just joined the forum today and looking for some advice on getting my new low end!

Currently have 2 Alpine Type Rs paired with an MRP-M1000 in some pre fab box. They go loud but I want more of a low/excursion sub for the rap music I listen to. They are up for sale locally so once they sell I'll be ordering my new stuff.

I live in Canada, 1 hour from the US boarder. I'll be ordering everything from america and driving down to my Kinek address to pick it up!

So far I've decided on the Sundown X12 subwoofer. I can get it off ebay/amazon for $399.99. Also if you know of any good retail stores throughout the US I could order from with free shipping let me know.

That leaves me with roughly $600 for an amp. or $350 for a good powerful amp and a D3400 XS battery which would replace my stock one. Here's the battery I was looking at:

I don't mind going with a more powerful amp, my truck has a 130A alternator and if my budget allows I could probably get a D3400 XS power battery (as stated above)

Currently considering the PDX-M12 for it's stack-able design (on top of my PDX-F4) and it's high efficiency!

Type r's in a proper box can bang pretty dang good. how much space are you willing to give up?

if its a sealed pre fab box you can get a whole lot more output with doing a custom built ported enclosure. what is the model number of those type r's. if they are the 1000wrms models then you can also gain a lot by getting a more powerful amp. another option is using your current equipment, upgrading your vehicle electrical and doing a custom box.

Are you sure you're set on selling them? I'd at least give building a proper box a try before doing so. Pre-fab boxes tend to be in-efficient, tuned too high, and not have enough port area. All this results in peaky high-notes and absent low notes.

Yes I've made the decision plus I want to build my own system from the ground up by myself. If I just wanted bass I'd keep my current system, but this is a hobby (probably for everyone on here) and building a system is most of the fun.
