Re Audio XXX12D2 vs. MX12D1

Trying to decide between these two subs. Price difference of about $200 bucks. I understand the XXX12D2 will obviously get louder etc., but is it just overkill. I like all types of music, but I want something that isn't just going to be sloppy and loud. I would like something that has some clean sound all the while still having the loudness. I know its asking for the perfect speaker. What kind of amp is going to be required for the XXX? I was thinking of the ED Nine.1 for the MX12D1. Would that fly for the XXX, or is that beast going to be two of those amps?

The XXX certainly has the potential to get louder, in a sealed enclosure comparison at the very least.
