I have an 18 and Im running a Cadence Daytona 2500 on it. I have the gain bout 3/4 on it and It is wired to I think 2 ohms my amp puts out around 1500 at 2 Is that safe? Also the box isnt starving for space but it is smelling like old cheese is it too much for them? I have a backup 18 but I want to get an idea if I am gonna need a more powerful 18?

1500rms is the max i would put on it.

Its not a volume knob, I suggest at the very least getting a DMM and setting your gains properly.

No, keep the sub level down, and set your gains with a DMM. You most likely have your gains up too high and are clipping your subs.
