RE Audio SX VS XXX

when comparing the Sx model to the xxx i kno the xxx should be alot better... but from what i hear this may not be the case

i have heard from people that the sx sub can actually be louder when compared to the xxx...

What are peoples exprierances with these subs and is the xxx worth the extra 140-150 dollars?

If you like sq, then yes, the xxx is well worth the extra money. Also, search.

XXX gets lower, and will take more power than the SX but with 1200w each the SX will be equal as loud.

personally i would rather have 2 SXs than a 15XXX(if that is an option) just IMO

but XXX is a good sub, but the SX for the price and efficiency its really good

if you want more sq, and by more= a good bit, then get the XXX, but for beating your brains out and pretty decent sq, the sx is hard to beat

SX's peak louder than a XXX in the testing done by David at RE. But the XXX's significant displacement advantage over the SX will mean the XXX will have greater average output over the frequency spectrum the subs will play. Especially so in the lower end. Id say to search as this very thing has been mentioned in many threads comparing the drivers, but the search function on this board is hosed, so that wouldnt really be fair.

the XXX has the advantage way down low

the SX has the advantage past 50hz at any level. The SX will be louder than the XXX in nearly EVERY application.

Exactly!!

If you want SPL go with the MT or SX.

Not saying that the XXX isn't loud, just saying that there are better choices for SPL. The XXX is a very good woofer for rather loud MUSIC!

I have an MT 18 and run it in a daily application. If you want something that will hurt you when it plays get an MT and put some serious power on it! You won't be disappointed.
