Hey I'm trying to decide on a sub. I'm stuck between the SE-10 http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=4909 and the BM-10 http://www.audiojunkies.com/product_detail.php?cid=159&product_id=261 . I want a sub that hits really hard but still has good sq. The subs are going to be put in a sealed box that can take a sub with a 6 3/16" mounting depth, and has a internal volume of .65 cu ft. Which one of these subs would fit my needs best? Any other suggestions? Also what should I amp them with?

Thanks

I vote BM, and a decent 500 watt 2ohm mono amp.
If both can be had for the same price can you explain why you would choose the BM over the SE. I am just curius as I have never had experience with the BM but I know the SE is a time and again proven performer in the $200 price range. Again I am not downing the BM I would just like to know why it would perform better. Thanks.

Actually once of our dealers is going out of business (actually changing businesses) and has his current stock of BM's at a lowered price. I just spoke with NoLimit on here and he's doing 143's with two ported BM's. Not too shabby for our mid-line driver. The SQ and SPL results of the challenge show a good bit of the BM's abilities - great SQ, and good SPL ability. Whichever you gear them towards is where they will excell (and by that I mean the install).

Part of it has to do with the business behind the product. And in this case I choose the BM, and if the BM is a mini MAG, I will take it over an SE, seeing IN know fairly well how a MAG preforms.

I was thinking about getting an Arsenal 10, but there aren't any in stock, and I talked to some1 from AA who said they aren't going to be expecting them back until late december.

if you put it like that, you'd have to call the se the mini xxx...

yeah, it don't make sense //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

Yeah thats a shame Nick. He'll be fine though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Like Nick said, my bm's are doing 143 on the termlab. I can tell you first hand that they are great drivers, and you will be impressed with their SQ. They are, after all, Stereo Integrity //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Mine are ported. I actually might build a sealed box over the thanksgiving to see how they are sealed.

I've never heard an RE SE, so I'm not going to make claims about their drivers and how they perform. I only know that the BM's are incredible, and are worth every penny, and more.

I wouldn't consider the SE a mini XXX. RE has different drivers. The BM was geared towards being a "mini mag". People say they sound the same, but the mag just gets a lot louder //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Which, after hearing both, they both sound incredible. The mag's lows are more resounding, whereas the BM flourishes in the middle range. Hence the SI recommendation of tuning a box to 34hz.

I honestly cant say, I've never heard an SE in my life //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I don't know how much spl you're going to get out of a sealed box, ported would be a much better option if SPL was your goal. But limited space is always lame //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

nice price, looks like he's already out of the BM D2 and only has one Mag 12 D2 left!!!
