RE 12 "knock" are they blown?

those subs are 175W RMS... and you are giving 250 to ONE coil? no wonder your subs are "knocking"... you should read some wiring tutorials and learn how to wire your subs correctly to your amp...

BTW... It seems you have a pretty hefty amp for those subs, ever think about downgrading maybe? I am in the market for a 1000w @ 1 ohm amp.

I also have an amp that will do 600w @ 1 ohm, just what you need //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

lol hell no, this is a sweet amp i got it for right under 150 and i wouldve paid over 300 for it, its not gonna leave me untill i blow it

i got it off of ebay

its a dpx 1000.1 or 1000.2 im not 10000% sure but i think its the 1000.1

i did a lot of research and this was one that really caught my eye. i think theyre apx line was supposed to be better but not for the price cut on the dpx. its a sweet *** amp, of course i say that and tomorrow itll catch on ****ing fire, but i like it a lot. it has a bunch of wiring choices from 250 at 4 ohms too 1000 at 1 ohm. i just got lucky and found one for as cheap as it was

Okay, thanks man. It is 1000.2, (its two channel...) None on eBay at the moment, maybe one day you shall sell it for a good low price;)

Until then, good luck with your wiring congifuration. Let us know how it turns out. Also, are you sure you have the sub sonic filter set correctly? You could be sending the subs notes that are under their freqeuncy repsonse, and they are bottoming out. Whats it set at? You said it only happens with "lowwww lowwww notes"...

ya, i have the subsonic filter on, which means that it blocks out low frequencies..right? im pretty sure i did that right, i read the manual like 10 times

this amp isnt adjustable its just a on/off button i dont have the manual handy but its like a preset. theyre in a sealed box with a divider in the middle and my dad said he did some rough calculations and said they have about 1.7cuft a piece but im pretty skeptical about that id say they have closer to about 1.2 a peice

Wire the coils in parralell and hook them up to each channel, each channel will run at 2ohms then and have a maxiumum potential output of 450watts rms to each sub.

Turn you're gain down below the point where the subs start knocking and keep you're SSF in the on position.

This should keep you from damaging the woofers while maintaining good sound..

I had my RE 10s running off my BX1000D and they actually sounded fuller and more define than being ran off my 800W Kenwood.

That knocking crap tho I never heard out of my REs or my SEs...

Dunno what to tell ya

I just have a question, and I'm not trying to insult you or anything, but how can someone with enough sense and know-how to install a 1000 watt amp and build a decent looking box for them be ignorant enough to wire only one voice coil per sub because it's "too complicated"? Wiring the subs is the easy part. I'm dumbfounded...
