im looking to sell my rd classics for something a little better overall and that can perform better in a ported enclosure so and info on these to subs would be helpful also i will be running a sundown sae 1000d and it will be more towards sql

By specs...

The BM has more x-max, a lower Fs, and a slightly lower Qts... by specs it seems that the BM will have more low-end extension and output.

The Sonace has a significantly higher BL so it would likely meter higher for SPL competition, though.

ive owned both, and both are nice subs that have good SQ. I found the Sonance was easier to get louder in a sealed box than the BM...but the BM took more power.

If you're going ported, the BM's can get pretty nasty. The 12" BM, in particular, leans towards ported enclosures more than the 10" models do.

There was someone on this board that sat in Hoss's truck (eight BM 12's in ~20 cubes ported) that aske me if the subs were Mag's. I told him no, they are BM's. He listened a little more and said "those are Mag's." I swore to him they were BM's (because they were), but Hoss's truck impacted so hard it was easy to mistake the BM's for Mag's.

We did a local install with two BM 12's ported and it is louder than my two Mag 12's sealed that have double the power.

I did a 141 with the Mag's sealed in an Integra off a Colossus II, and the BM's were quite a bit louder in a RSX with a SAZ-1500D. My guestimate would be a 143'ish from the BM's if he would have gotten metered before he sold the car. Now the subs are in a 4-runner waiting to be hooked up.
