RD 1000.1 and RD 15" Alpha

Hey guys, just looking for some advice here. I'm upgrading my setup,

(2) MTX 7500's single 4 ohm coils, wired down to 2ohms on a Planet Audio VX900D, pushing about 650RMS to them. Surprisingly they get fairly loud, and they're not even seeing rated power, but I would like to go with a one sub setup, that will better all around, SQL.

I am looking into getting an RD audio Alpha 15" on a RD1000.1. The price is pretty good, at about $800 for the sub/spec box/amp brand new. Hoping someone running either one of these, or any similar setup can give me some feedback on how it sounds. I'm pretty sure the sound quality will be better than the MTX's, which are neither spl or sq, they're just shit, and the amp isn't very clean either, but it gets fairly loud on my almost stock electrical.

Another question I have, is that for the same money, I can have a JL 1000/1 and a 13W7, so which setup would be better all around for SQL?

Thanks in advance, Derek.

really. The thing I'm worried about is I'm on stock electrical, with 2 gauge wiring. Haven't gotten around to doing the big 3 as yet, but that will come in another month. Would I still get the potential out of these amps?

Thanks, I needed to know that. After the feedback I think I'm going to go with this setup, but upgrade to the 1750.1, just to have more power for later on, should be way more than enough for a daily driver.
