On my rca wires there is a small black wire that comes out of the middle of each side. I'm assuming this is a remote wire, but it looks so small. Could it be some kind of grounding wire? how big should a remote wire be?

Could be a remote. What kind of interconnects are they?

Usually remote wires are pretty small, since they don't have to carry much current - usually under a half an amp. Mine's 14awg THHN stranded wire, but that's because it was the only thing around at the time.

I have both my RCA's ziptied and Techflex'ed to my main power cable, which is 2awg worth of welding cable. If that doesn't introduce noise into the system, I don't think 16awg with 0.5A of current will either //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

but installs may vary.
