OK, ran the wires for my front speakers, got the y-adapter rca's from Konicks, but I cant seem to get them connected properly. I have a clarion 4 channel amp, alpine HU. The alpine only has 2 rca jacks on the back of it, so for the past week I had the 6x9's hooked up tp the amp with both rca cables running to the rear rca jacks on the amp. Front speakers running of HU. Worked fine. But, today I wired the fornt speakers to the amp, connected y-adapters, and I cant seem to get the front speakers to work off of the front rca's on the amp. WHen I adjust my fader on the HU, seems like everything is only running off the rear part of the fader. Hoe this makes sence:) Im lost, wich rca's do I have crossed? I havce checked all + and - and wires. Everything is wored good. Must be im crossing the rcas or something. HELP!!!

Yea, Ive tried a couple different combos, no luck yet. Just was wondering what the magic combo is?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif There has to be a systematic way to go about this.

ok....this is strange. I figured since I ran the rear speakers fine with the rca's going to the rear jacks of the amp, I would try to run just the front speakers with the rca;s comming from the HU to the amp to the fronts only. No y-adapters. Just the same way I had the rears hooked up for a week. NOTHING! I checked the fuses, and they look fine, put new ones in just incase. Cant figure this out.

ok...The best I can do is, I have the front and rear spearkers working as left and right channels. The front left & rear left work together on the balance control and vica versa for the right side. SO the left and right channels are correct. Essentially I have lost my fader control on my HU. Fader in the middle, or faded to the rear I have sound out of all speakers. Anything towards the front part of the fader and I lose all sound. Is there a better way? Or is that it till I upgrade to a HU with 4 rca jacks? I hate loosing my fader, it really helps balance things out between highs and lows depending on the cd or whatever. The Amp has freq and hp and lp switches, but a fader is a big help...Any suggestions? Maybe I still have the rca and y-adapters wrong.

Since you are using only Rear-Rca output and y-adapters your headunit doesn't see a front channel. Basically if you really want your fade control back you need to re-do the Rca-input on the amp. You can put both front-speakers on either the left or right channel of the amp and the rears on the other. Then you can use the left-right control as a fade control. This will work but you have to sacrifice eith the fade control or the left to right control. Once you get a headunit with front n rear Rcas you'll regain both controls.

Yea thats about what I figured out. I think I may buy the Jensen CD-4610. Its got 2 sets of rcas and is about $89. I may get that tomorrow from Circuit City. Also ill get another rca cable to run from hu to amp. Geuss I wasted $12 on the y-adapters. Oh well, live and learn:)
