Does it matter it they are cut and reconnected to make them them longer

i have no idea because i have never tried and never would... but depending on what type they are, it could be very difficult to reconnect them correctly as they arent just a wire inside a jacket like the typical speaker wire. besides, they're so cheap why not just get some more or at least some pass-throughs and another short piece?

Well I got this truck used it used to have a system and the previous owner had cut them

its not as simple as cut and extend with rcas... just buy a new set.
