RCA and HU question

I have a question about hooking up my amps to my HU. My HU is a Pioneer 6400 and it has two sets of RCA pre-outs. One set is "rear" and the other is "mid". For amps, I have one four channel amp and one mono amp.

Is the correct way to hook up by using a 4 channel RCA on the "mid" pre-out and a 2 channel RCA on the "rear" pre-out?

Why are all of the 4 channel RCA's im finding on Ebay have 4 plugs? What I need is a 2 plug end splitting to 4 plugs. Will I need to buy a 2 channel RCA and then use 2 "y" cables on it for my application?

Many 4-channel amps have RCA outputs as well as inputs. Does yours?

And are you sure it isn't "front", not "mid"? I've never seen a pre-out labelled "mid" on a head unit.

Read the manual, it will contain an explaination for what goes where and include diagrams.
