rattling trunk on an 03 honda accord

hey guys, I need some help with a rattling problem...it sounds like its coming from behind the license plate...whenever I push down on the trunk, the rattling stops. I noticed there is no insulation between the fabric and the metal of the trunk itself inside the trunk lid...so what do I do?

buy some fat-mat material from me! your friendly fat-mat dealer.

1.25 a sqft + shipping straight to your door... you should need about 15 sqft which should be just want you need to do that trunk and behind the license plate.

or you could do the whole car and make your honda feel like a lexus with 65 sqft of fatmat sound deadener.

let me know

mike

fat > dynamat and it's cheaper.. it's an offbrand product, same idea as dynamat though..

has a 50 mil asphault bitumen sheet, same thing as dynamat, except dynamat's is 37 mil thick and dynamat has a tin foil face to it.

you can cut anything to fit behind your license plate.. they sell you .5 feet for 12.95 for that license thing.. crazy i say.

i would never buy dynamat, its a pad that goes under the plate, it was an example ****, just b/c you sell something you dont need to trash talk another product it is very unprofessional...

if you want my opinion get second skin damplifier, it can be found at http://www.secondskin.com, im only reccomending it b/c i dont like that guy ^ and b/c ant is a great guy...

dynamat is a good product, but for cheaper you can get a better, thicker, product.

i saw a second skin Group buy someplace on this forum.. it has some kind of code offer with it, might want to look into that.

it's a good product if you ahve the money to trash for two layers of it.. or unless you just want marginal gains for a modest stereo.

to each thier own.

edit: also i have two screw holes in my eclipse.. it works good, these sheets have a peel off plastic sheet on the back of em that lets out a super adhesive that will stick to anything DRY... so you really dont need any screws to keep it on there : )

are you comparing fatmat to dynamat extreme?

They do look similar, but are very different

1. Dynamat extreme is not Bituminous. it is an odorless butyl compositeunlike fatmat which is sbs rubberized asphalt with strong odor.

2. fatmat is 45 mils thick, close enough though

3. Dynamat extreme is 67 mils thick, no 37 (was that a typo?)

4. dynamats foil is twice as thick as the foil on fatmat, 4 mils rather than 2 mils, which helps with heat and damping results

5. Dynamat has a heat tollerance of 300 degrees compared to 210 of fatmat, sounds like a small gap but is huge inthe car environment

6. fatmat is made by a roofing company, for use on roofs, dynamat is made for cars.

7. http://www.sounddeadenersowdown.com

or more specificly

http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/heat/index.shtml

I would only reccomend fatmat in small amounts (license plate is a good place)

or on flat areas of the car.

Not a bad choice is you are trying to save money. especially if you live in a cooler climate!

lord knows Second skin sure in not the cheapest around, so I dont have too much room to talk, but DE is agreat product if you can get it online for cheap
