What kind of prep did you do? I rattlecanned my brothers camaro and it looks good, its all in the prep.

even when trying to do a cheap paint job - i still buy Autopaint,You can grab a gallon of Single Stage

car paint and a cheap sprayer and mask,scuff and shoot a car and get results that will be OK,spray cans look like dogpoo

clear starts at 80 bucks for a gal. an ill prob need 2 so nah.

WHAT? You clearing the whole neighborhood???

You CAN lay down a nice paintjob with rattlecans, but you have to know how to spray. Rattlecans are formulated to dry FAST so its pretty hard to do nice, wet coats without running the piss out of the panel

My mirrors are rattlecanned and cleared with duplicrap

But I know how to spray.....

hey if ur happy with it thats all that matters.

guy the car is worth $1000 tops why would he want to drop 400-500 in paint materials? he would need surfacer primer/hardener,base coat,urathane reducer,clear along with tag rags,green tape and alot of other supplies. if he picks a good paint such a dupont depending the color it can get real expencive..

1987 MR2 candy apple red with clear, less than a hundred bucks. Pic was taken after a five and a half hour drive so it's a little dirty. I've also used a roller to paint a car before. It doesnt hurt that I used to paint cars for a living years ago. Like I said it not hard to get great results, it's just that the paint doesnt hold up for more than about 2 years.

an here we go with the dumb comments, not trying to look hood, just wanted the car black and to answer an earlier question i pulled most of the fender dent out with something that looked like a plunger with a brass knuckle grip. i have all the "real paint supplies" like 3 big paint guns, 2 small ones, big *** air compressor about 100 ft of hose black paint ppg, mineral spirits for thinning strainers an all that stuff but like i said i didnt wanna do all that. too much shit into a 1800$ car that i still might sell by the end of the month, these are getting harder and harder to find since every movie with a police chase ****es up about 20 of them

It sounds like you're just creating a bunch of excuses for doing a hack job. A good paint job would've helped you get a little more money, even if it is a POS.

$50 Krylon Satin Blue and clear from Wal-Mart ...its been holding fine for 5 years now.....
