I wish the bullshit installers where I had some work done about a year ago would see this thread. I gave them 60sq/ft of raammat and 3 yards of ensolite and they literally just cut a square piece off and put it behind the speaker on the front doors w/ no baffles. They told me they put it where most of the rattle was coming from //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif I paid a lot in labor and they never told me I had a crap load of raammat and ensolite left until I discovered they didn't use hardly any of it, then they were like, "oh yeah, we have a box of stuff here for you". **** AUDIO EXCELLENCE! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif

that really sucks. I would be pissed off. and DEMAND a refund.

Those doors will be 'full of fail' until you cover the holes. And cutting your deadener into those little tiny pieces and placing them everywhere is lot of work for less performance. Next time cover all the holes first, then go back and apply mat in as large of sheets as you can. Installation will go much faster once you get the hang of it, and one large sheet covering your entire door will work better than 57 tiny pieces placed haphazardly.

Luckily for me, VW decided that not having gaping holes in the door panel was a good idea, so they're really well sealed up from the factory. They just have a lot of weird crevices that makes deadening that panel a pain.

Those were my doors, just before covering over the Lexan with another layer of deadening.

And I did that in 25 degree temperatures, with light snow falling and a hairdryer...
