Raphael Palmiero

I have no problem with anyone that does steroids. That is there choice, none of your business, my business or anyone else's business. If they choose to take the risks, then so be it. Palmeiro wasn't given a pill, he was given a B-12 injection, you don't even have your facts straight. If you were to read into the information that was provided, you would have seen that Palmeiro told of all the supplements he took, he never said that Tejada was the one that gave him the "tainted" supplement, he simply said it could be a possibility. I seriously doubt Palmeiro was putting any blame on Tejada, he was simply accounting for what he took and where he got it. Again, read a little more, before you go off on someone. Why would I cheer for Ryan Franklin? He's not getting blasted in the media by anyone, the media only chooses to pick on the popular players, making stories seem far worse than they really are. Then you get these assholes booing them in the stands, I feel bad for Giambi and Palmeiro, so I root for them to do good, big deal. Even though in a sense they brought things on themselves, it's the media that makes things sound worse than they are. And who are you to judge, maybe Palmeiro did accidentally take steroids, you don't know just like I don't know, and really, I could careless. Palmeiro and Giambi are better men than you'll ever be. It's one thing to be selfish, but at least those guys care enough to help out there respective communities. So what if they have a blemish or two on there record.
doesnt matter anyway. baseball sucks ***!!

You still don't know that he deliberately took them. For all you know, they could have been planted in some food he took. Now, I don't know much about steroids, so I'm just guessing at a possibility, but for someone to say that someone took steroids and for the player to be proven to have taken them, it's b asically going to have to be caught on video of the player injecting them, and even then, the player could say it was something else. So in reality, the player can/will always say they didn't take them, and you really can't be 100% sure that they did. I'm not 100% sure Palmeiro took them knowingly, I think he did, I think he's a good guy, but you will probably never know for sure. So to wish somebody herpes or whatever you did, is stupid. You don't know him, you only know what MLB and the media had to say.
Well the fact that I've read about the steroid that triggered a positive test, and the reading I've done on what doctors have said about that steroid, I'd wager to say he knew what he was doing, and what he was taking.

This is what sucks about the steriod policy, and the players- Giambi is the only one that has actually admitted to taking them out of the names that everyone is throwing around...although he had denied it in the past. I will agree with you on the point that we can never truthfully know what happened, unless we have physical evidence that points to such, or as in Giambi's case, their coming out party.

With that said, do I believe Palmeiro took steroids? Yes. Do I believe he has lied to everyone associated to the sport? Yes. He has been making up so many excuses as to why he turned up a positive test, yet has produced nothing to back up his claims.

IMO, he needs to stop being a ***** and man up to what he did.

Are you a Yankees fan by chance??
Nope, hate them. The Yankees are soon going to find out what spending tons of money on high praised veterans and trading away their farm players for said players. They have one of the worst farm systems in the game, and it's going to hurt them BAD.

You still don't know the facts, there is a small chance that he did take them on accident, now that chance is really small, but you still have to give him that. Put yourself in his situation, you knowing that you did not take these steroids, you want to clear your name, but you cannot clear it while this investigation is going on. For all you know, he could have tested positive before he went before congress. Now with that being said, are you going to come out and try to tell your side of the story and expect congress to believe you? No matter what he says, even if he did not take them, people are going to be skeptical. So as long as he keeps his mouth shut, he doesn't have any legal problems. Once he feels that he can present his case, then he will do so, if he lied, then he will never present a case and simply hope everything goes away. Even then, you can't prove he knowingly did it. Even Canseco said he doubts Palmeiro was doing any steroids during this year. But look at another side of the issue, the one player that was claiming he did steroids several years ago, and he is still testing positive, I haven't read into the scientific info, but I guess it could be a possibility, but then again, that would lead to what I said earlier about Palmeiro's testimony to Congress. All we can say, is that he tested positive for steroids, we can't and probably will never be able to determine whether he took them purposely unless like you said, he comes out and says it, and technically, Giambi really never came out and said it because of legal issues, but everybody got the message.

Well Canseco said that he personally injected Raffie...and at this point, Canseco is looking more credible then a few current players //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Oh, I agree, I believed Canseco before Raffy tested positive. Listening to his interviews, hearing what he had to say about certain players. Just take a look at Bret Boone, he's a prime example. He wasn't that great when he first came in the league, and then all of a sudden he's banging out homeruns, now look at him, sobbing in a press conference about getting released or whatever had happened. You just don't come out and publish a book, and not be able to back it up if you are going to name names.

Baseball to me has turned into the biggest piece of shit! Ive been playing since I was 4 years old and im now starting to hate the game. I see baseball now as a cheap way for people to cheat and become rich.

Fuck Canseco anyway. Whether what he said was true or not I can't look past the motive behind his book. JEALOUSY. He never really made it big in MLB even though he had the physical tools to be a big time player.(and when I say big time player I'm talking about players like Ripken, R. Jackson, Tejada, Jeter, Arod, etc. NOT players that have a good couple years and then disappear). So what does he do to take revenge on everyone for his failures...he writes a book to take everyone else down with him. That ******* still has NO credibility with me.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif

a comedian said once "who gives a fvck if these guys use steroids, hell i wouldnt care if they came out with tails a huge *** bobble heads" .......really...why give a **** what they use? we all love home runs and good plays, it just enhances the game that much more.

This is such a stupid argument. Let's assume that a majority of the things he said are true, why should it matter what provoked him to bring everything to light? This isn't an issue where he's gonna run out and rat on former teammates because it's the "right thing to do", it took something very personal for him to come out, deservedly so. Anytime a criminal confesses, it usually takes being faced with a long prison term to do so. Should we completely ignore the confession because they did it for selfish reasons? That's stupid. It's information that benefits society, it's counterproductive to ignore it because you think he's an *******.

And your other points are stupid too. Of course he could have had a better career considering how talented he was, but he didn't. Big whoop. He still played 17 seasons in the majors and had a pretty good career. Nearly 500 homers, first to 40/40, part of the Bash Brothers, won MVP/Rookie of the Year, six-time all-star, and played great and helped the A's win the World Series. Tons of players would kill to have a career like that.

Well, I think your points are stupid too. For starters I never said I thought he made the shit up or not, just that his motives were selfish. He had NOTHING to gain by ratting everyone out. He did it to make everyone elses stats tainted since his career was subpar for what he was capable of. Until this book came out I actually liked him and I guess thats what pisses me off the most. Oh and I fail to see how society is better because of this fvcking book but if you feel better because of it then thats fine. Also I don't choose to ignore it either I just hate the fact that it is being taken as fact before these guys were tested. Now that Raffy has been busted I guess NOW it is a big deal. I didn't like how all these players got fingered had to go up before congress (or whatever it was) and testify. As far as I'm concerned our gov't had nothing to do with this but low and behold there they are.

All in all I'm not condoning Raffy or anyone else that does roids. He got busted and thats that. You make good points but I feel I had some good ones too. But that is your opinion and I can respect that. What really pisses me off is Barry Bonds is going to get away with doing them all those years while he was compiling all his stats and now when he's at the tail end of his careeer he can stop and get the last however many home runs he needs to break the record at his leisure. Too bad the homer record will be held by such an incredible *******.

-end rant

Barry Bonds is not getting off the hook. If he breaks the hr record, there will be many people that will denounce it and ask that hank aarons record be upheld.
