What happens when you wire a sub/subs up to the wrong ohm? Say if you wire 2 dual 2 ohms to 1 ohm? Will it blow the sub/fry the amp or will it just play really badly? I'm not gonna try and do this lol, I'm just wondering in case I happen to f*** up, this is my first install.

If you wire your subs to an impedance too low for the amplifier, it will hopefully shut down before any damage occurs. If you wire it to a higher impedance, the amp will simply produce less power.

Why are there only certain ways to wire certain subs to? For example why can 2 d2 subs only be wired to .5, 2, or 8 ohm? What would happen if they were wired to 1 or 4 ohm?

It's fairly simple electrical mathmatics. Certain combincations can and will only yield specific results. It's an inescapable fact.

Nothing would happen as a pair of DVC 2 Ohm drivers simply cannot be wired to a 1 Ohm or a 4 Ohms nominal load.
