RAMAT Question

Do you recommend getting anything else with the Raammat? What is that liquid stuff you are talking about?
this is the liquid stuff im talking about

http://www.secondskinaudio.com/sound-deadener/spectrum.php

very nice stuff.

also check out the rest of their products, however you sound like your on a budget so raammat will work fine for you. i plan to use all raammat as my deadening but adding some second skin products to the mix too.

I don't have any pics, but im going to be taking a ton of pictures as soon as i get my speaker system installed. I'm gonna be doing some decorations on the sub, gonna line the entire box with white rug and gonna do the same with the trunk. I ways thought a white interior looks awesome.
I'll def let you know when I take the pictures.

As soon as I turned the sub up to about 50% or so, my whole rear-view mirror flew off the window. Gotta get a better mirror as well. haha

I cant imagine going any louder than that. I'm afraid to see what it might do at a louder setting. Is it supposed to make your entire body feel extremely uncomfortable cause the vibrations rattle your ears and brain too much?

I'm not sure what it is set to but I can find out and let you know. I'm a noob so I don't know all of the tech details. I just know the system cost him around 600 dollars to put together but only sold it to me for 150 since he used it already and was my good friend. It pays off knowing someone who does sub boxes for a career. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Here's a vid of iamamp3pimp's Neon. It's faily loud.

As bobby will tell you, I'm on a tight budget and don't want to spend anymore than 1100 bucks.

I'm at 800 bucks with the speaker setup and I'm getting a yellow cap battery for 175. I want to spend about 200 to 300MAX for sound dampening.

I'm lucky since I'm a part of a barter trading service with around 3500 dollars on the card. I'm using it with Team Nutz. They will be doing all the wiring, matting, custom tweeter placement, carpeting on the sub, and a full detail for no charge to me. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Ah the power of barter trading!

This saves me money haha.

It sounds like crap IMO. Mine has a much cleaner sound and i'm sure it will do the same thing to my windows if i crank it up. I honestly havent heard my subs at any more than 50%. Like I said, it is way too loud for my ears and I'm not planning on going deaf at 21 years of age.

I'm guessin that is for your floor? How much would you recommend to cover the entire floor and do a pretty good job at sound deadening?

I just posted that to show you the flex pretty much. Like brian smith06 said you can't tell how it sounds with a camera mic but it's not made for sound quality anyway. Your windows wouldn't do that no matter how loud you turn it up. It takes a lot of work and power to get that kind of flex.

put your subs in and see what rattles. then deaden it. what really helped with my civic ( trunk also) was to cover all the holes in the trunk lid with galvinized steel and lay rammat over it. What really helps get rid of rattles on the outside is that closed cell foam weather proofing stuff.

yeah i wanna get rid of the outside rattle.... any links?

why in the world would anyone want the windows to flex like that? i understand for competition but for personal use, do you realllllly need em that loud? that is just way overkill. I like a nice clean bass that is just a little louder than the music. My friend is amazed that I asked him to turn the bass down below 25%

No it's not practical for daily. Some people just like to see how loud they can get it.

Raammaudio (makers of Raammat) has some deadening tips on their site here. If you call Rick at Raammaudio he'll answer any questions you have. He's a super nice guy.

I'm gonna be honest. I am a lil worried that the Pioneers that you told me to get will not be loud enough by themselves. I hope i dont have to get 2 more and put them in the somewhere else in the front.

What is ensolite and what is the difference compared to the matting.

If I were to get some of that for the trunk, how much should I get? It is cheap.

you can get the closed cell foam at home depot...... its in the door/window section. just play your system at full crank and when you hear rattles push down where you think its rattling and if its some where 2 things touch (ex: trim and body ) take the trim off and stick the foam around the edges of the trim piece and screw it back on. no more rattle : )

The Ensolite goes over the Raammat. I don't know how much the benefit of using it would be as I haven't tried it.

Alright well I'm gonna get to bed. I'll check back here tomorrow.

I need to know more info about that liquid stuff and if it is worth it for the floor.

I also need to know a price range for that foam.

Thanks guys
