RAMAT Question

what can i do with 2?

or better yet

what do you recommend when applying the mat?

i know trunk is recommended cause i have a lot of rattle in there.

but what else is a good choice? i know doors, but is the floor and roof a good idea?

3 rolls is a bit much for me

(btw, my back panel behind the seats rattles like no other and i need a fix to it.)

Trunk and front doors is plenty for your application. One roll should do. If you deaden that back panel that's going to make it harder for the bass to get into the cabin. Try to find out exactly what's rattling on it and find a way to fix it without doing the whole thing. If you have speakers in the rear deck remove them to allow more bass into the cabin.

Probably only need to do the trunk, side panels over rear dash, rear dash and front doors (inner and outer metal of doors) to prevent resonating noise. Roof is mostly pointless and the floor is to lower road noise, which allows you to hear more from your stereo, but doesn't really improve the sound quality.

You'd probably run out with just 1 roll. Places like your doors (where your speaker is located, you'll want to do 2 layers. The doors alone can take 36sq ft.

so you're not supposed to deaden the rear deck?

The entire deck rattles. One tech at TeamNutz said it is a common problem and that using velcro around the entire back deck would help the problem but not fix. I want to get rid of ALL vibrations.

1 roll is good, but 2 is def better. i can give any i have left to my friend

I have a 2 door grand am.. How many sqft will i need to do everything from the backseat back?? Im not doing the roof .. Thanks for the help.....Sorry for post dumping

bobbydd, you may think the subs are weak but trust me, they are crazy

the box was custom made by a professional and it takes up my entire trunk

not to mention he tweaked it to no end.

turning the subs amp to only 25% makes it unbearable to my ears

my 2 12s sound just as loud as his 15 with a 5000w amp

the team nutz guy even complimented me on the subs, stating they sound a lot louder than he imaged it would be

Sounds good. A good box makes a lot of difference. If the rear deck really rattles that bad then try the raammat on it and see if it helps. I'd try to isolate the problem first by pushing down on it with the system playing to see if you can get it to stop. If you can locate the problem maybe you can fix it without deadening it, but maybe not.

Do you have any pics of the box you can post? It sounds nice. What's it tuned to?

i have an 04 cavalier 2dr and used a whole roll on my doors and rear deck if you want that for reference. However i put 2-3 layers on everything. i plan to use probably 5 rolls by the time i'm done, a few gallons of spectrum and lots of ensolite or overkill

I don't have any pics, but im going to be taking a ton of pictures as soon as i get my speaker system installed. I'm gonna be doing some decorations on the sub, gonna line the entire box with white rug and gonna do the same with the trunk. I ways thought a white interior looks awesome.

I'll def let you know when I take the pictures.

As soon as I turned the sub up to about 50% or so, my whole rear-view mirror flew off the window. Gotta get a better mirror as well. haha

I cant imagine going any louder than that. I'm afraid to see what it might do at a louder setting. Is it supposed to make your entire body feel extremely uncomfortable cause the vibrations rattle your ears and brain too much?

I'm not sure what it is set to but I can find out and let you know. I'm a noob so I don't know all of the tech details. I just know the system cost him around 600 dollars to put together but only sold it to me for 150 since he used it already and was my good friend. It pays off knowing someone who does sub boxes for a career. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
