so when i unplug my sub amp the rcas so nothing is playing i can crank my rainbows and they never distort or do anything but sound like pure goodness. They are hooked up to a hifonics jupiter briged. When i do have my subs on after a bout half way up the tweeters are crackling and attempting to play bass, it seems like my crossovers are picking up abss from the subs? helpme i have no clue what it is and it bothers me... please help, o subs are 06 xxx's and amp is vfl400.1, i have kinetick 2400 + 2 other batts and a 250 amp alt as well and all 0

Thanks korey

Korey, are you trying to fix your current issue or are you honestly considering going forward with the trade.

Just curious i would hate to remove the doors and do all that work for nothing.

thank you

please let me know

well im trying to trade for your speakers but, i figure if im getting something else im going to have the same problem... idk what is causing it but as long as i dont have subs pounding im fine, i just want to make sure that when i get your cdt's and expand with a few more mids that i dont have the same problem

chances are it is either your playing it to loud for the tweeter to handle, The xover cant take the power, Or you are clipping the signal. The subs dont have anything to do with it. Do make sure though that it is indeed the tweeters. Any chance you have an up close pic of the xover boards? I wanna see what voltage caps are used in them.

nope i max my vol at 66 i think max on the radio is 82... its an eclipse cd7000, anyway they are mounted near the box...i think the bass is shakng them and causing this, but i dont know...

Hey man, I think i am having the same problem as you (op). The tweeters or upper midrange are kind of distorting but, only when my sub amp and subs are on. Seems like its the pressure, from the bass idk, i just installed amp and comps yesterday so, i am still tuning but, idk how much more, i can do..

well today i screwed them done completly with all 4 tabs and i still get the distortion when turned up...idk where else to put these its starting to piss me off that 900 dollar speakers are sounding like *** when turned up

I have a sub, and my vandiums sound clear, I guess I am ignorant I did not know x-overs could pick up some kind of induced signal, strange problem

well, i got it all fixed now... just need to be really tight down with 2 xxx's in the trunk i think all the air moving was just making them pick up te bass and try and play it...
