Yeah .... I could go active , but I'd need to know the reccomended points and slopes , and I doubt Rainbow would like answering that too much //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gifi say if you are going to do it... if you have the means... go for the whole enchilada- 2 ways are great, but the sepation of 3ways adds even yet another dimmension.
Hehe...put that DRZ to work bish! Its not like you dont have the flexibility...
I'll probably call Matthew at Alumapro tomorrow , and get his reccomendation.i say if you are going to do it... if you have the means... go for the whole enchilada- 2 ways are great, but the sepation of 3ways adds even yet another dimmension.

Ughh .... I thought the "kick " was designated for use in kick panels ?Sounds to me based on your listening tastes that the same set as Skier suits you- trust me Rainbow mids put out nice midbass, but the Kickbass driver is an option for a reason...as you were witness of![]()
Whew ..... I'm really lost now ! According to Rainbow's website , the "kick" version only plays down to 80 hz ( a design I would think was intended for installations in kick panels ) , so why would Skier put them in his doors ?Sounds to me based on your listening tastes that the same set as Skier suits you- trust me Rainbow mids put out nice midbass, but the Kickbass driver is an option for a reason...as you were witness of![]()
what do kick panels have to do with anything? its a higher efficiency woofer designed for more kick in the 'kick' drum type of freq's...therefore named 'Kickbass'...Whew ..... I'm really lost now ! I guess I'll have to call Rainbow tomorrow ..... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
Not according to Rainbow's website Max .... The effiency is exactly the same on all the 6.5 Profis , but the freq response is not. The regular Profi's play down to 39 hz , while the kicks only play down to 80 hz ...... This sounds like Rainbow made the kicks to go into kick panels , with that 80 hz cut off. I'll know soon !!what do kick panels have to do with anything? its a higher efficiency woofer designed for more kick in the 'kick' drum type of freq's...therefore named 'Kickbass'...
Well Max .... We were both wrong .... LOLwhat do kick panels have to do with anything? its a higher efficiency woofer designed for more kick in the 'kick' drum type of freq's...therefore named 'Kickbass'...
I did not say it was more efficient than another speaker- read what i said.Well Max .... We were both wrong .... LOLI just spoke with Matthew at Alumapro , and the " kick" version is not more effecient , but also is not made for kick panel applications. It is indeed made with a much stiffer suspension , to play like a sealed speaker would , but in a not so perfectly sealed door configuration. The 80 hz roll off was necessary to obtain the same effeciency , while using the 3 times stiffer suspension.....
Hokay , Tank is rollin Daewoo !!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif  //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
Hey man ... That would be great.blue,
If you want to PM me your e-mail address, I can e-mail you the Rainbow Kickbass Forever PDF. It's no longer available on the Rainbow site.
It is very informative. Wish I could remember who sent it to me. Might have been 3.5Max6spd?
No offence taken Bro ..... If I had the Rainbow reps contact info ...... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gifI did not say it was more efficient than another speaker- read what i said.I simply referred to it the same way Rainbow did in the literature that came with my kickbass. At 90db 1W/1m its pretty efficient and mates to the rest of the gear in efficiency.
No offence but up to a few months ago, nobody at Alumapro, even Ken had a clue about the Rainbow line whatsoever. If you have any questions about the product contact the Rainbow rep in Florida directly.
