They are Rainbows paper cone version of their high end woofer line- Profi- copper in the motor, flawless fit and finish, aluminum dust cap as on the Vanadium version...all the good stuff. Its an SQ sub with adequate SPL. The paper cone doesnt feel fragile to the touch, but you can image a drill tip slip would be the end of it. So took my time mounting them.

Just threw these in, they required a 1.2 cube each, they dropped right into my current enclosure. This sub is a very purdy thing, and sounds every bit so. A step ahead of the Arc subs I had prior in naturalness and texture of the drums.

I believe in break in periods and have had limited listening to them so far to further analize, so I'll save a review for another time. Each is powered at 1.5 ohm load off the sub ch of an A7 ( I run a pair of A7's).

:)Here are some pics, and as you will see I got 'on them' already a bit..hehe

We barely know how to work this new Audiocontrol RTA , but we are getting familiar with it. Gotta read the manual extensively and get a grip on it.

Audiocontrol SA-3055 w/ an SPL190 meter. Got the subs and got metered by Don(6spdcoupe) @ Unexpected Creation in Edison, NJ.

Should see what his Flatlines were metering...jeez:naughty:

wow, someone actually bought some rainbows...cool. Those leads bother me though, they either slap or dont have enough excursion to slap, and im guessing the latter of the two. But they're not SPL subs anyways....im sure they sound great, if I could find a deal on a pair id probably snag some just to be different. Nice subs though.

They are rated 32mm peak to peak. No crazy excursion, but in the typical neighborhood of most SQ subs ~16mm one way....The leads sure as hell dont slap though. I'm a big fan of paper cone subs like the IDW, so after being impressed by the SQ of the Vanadium sub over the years when I first came across Rainbow, once these were listed i imagined they'd be pretty tits for an SQ system. Indeed they are very natural sounding and pack enough punch for the fun stuff.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'll meter these again in the coming weeks once my Zapco DSP6SL comes in and balanced line driver...I'm using a generic 3way xover which outputs put out what I put in off my HU(4volts, split into 3pairs of chs)...so I think my amps can do a bit better with a hotter signal and more precise level matching.

Where did you get them? Is there an online dealer?
You have to be kidding //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Ok, so I'm totally jealous....and don't normaly get this way when someone buys some ultra cool *** chit....but ****!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/drool.gif.b5e863e893038027711d4402f340dad0.gif I'd like to spend a few hours alone with your trunk if you know what i mean //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Now they do make an acutual Vanadium sub version with the aluminum cone, right?

So you say a step ahead of the 12D4's....is that in output too?? I'm interested in hearing more comparo's here.

Nice stuff man!!

Yes there is the Vanadium version as well.

a few steps and the guys at Arc will concur, although thats without price being a mitigating factor.
