Hi everyone, I just bought a rainbow DM2000 - Car Audio & Security: Car Stereo, Speakers & Subwoofers, Car DVD Players, GPS and CD Changers

I have just installed it, i previously ran a crappy 'theloudest.com' amplifier (Welcome to TheLoudest.co.uk - 3,000w Class D Amplifier) so I though I should get something decent. I am running a type-r dual 4ohm. I have wired to 2ohm as it was with my previous amp and have checked it with a DMM, also double checked all terminations etc.

Now the crappy theloudest.com amp claimed to put out 500W RMS at 2ohms but I always doubted its cheapness. It wasnt 'powerful' but it was sufficient to move the sub. This rainbow amp should put out 730W at 2ohms although I havent measured its actual output properly yet. All I can say is that it seems to be extremely quiet and is hardly moving the sub, unless I max out the gain which I dont intend to do. I have checked everything and cant seem to undestand why its got no output. Ive had a play with the settings but still unless I max the gain i can barely hear the sub, even though I should be technically overpowering it.

I was wondering if anybody has had any experience with this amp or could shed some light on this. Faulty amp?

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks
