Rainbow 265.25 NG Kick vs. Hertz HSK 165

Personally I wouldn't drop $400 on speakers I've never heard, or base my decision solely on what others think as only your ears can tell you how they sound. I'd make a better effort to demo the 2 sets you have in mind, so you don't end up with buyer's remorse.
I'm very aware of the chance I'll have a case of buyer's remorse when I get them. Half of what I think sounds good is psycological anyway. Rainbow's overall sound has been in the public eye for quite awhile (at least the 2 years or so I've been into car audio) and it's still pretty hard to find anyone that says they aren't worth every penny at every model's price level.

I drive a big honkin' truck, and to actually go around looking for a soundboard with Rainbow and Hertz on it may very well end up costing me the price of the speakers with the way gas prices are going. I average around 11-13 mpg. 14 on the highway if I'm easy on it. I'm buying sight unseen, which is one of the reason's I went with a "forum boner" brand. I'm prepared to live with the decision if I don't like them, but have my finger's crossed that isn't the case.

Thanks for the advice though. I didn't drop $400 on them in any event. Manny's got the hook up.
