Anyone here know how to run a raid setup?

I have two identical harddrives that i wanna run raid with. Like, do I have to reformat both drives with the same OS? Or do i only install it on one hdd and then enable raid?

I need your input.

do you have a cd that came with the setup? if so use it to set up the raid...now the question is what type of raid are you gonna use stripped ...mirrored raid 5? raid5 is the way to go...stripped means that you will put a peice of the os on each hdd, mirrored means you will have two hdd exactly alike when one fails the other kicks in without missing a beat...you can find this info by doing a google search of RAID SETUPS

Not sure, Ive never researched RAID setups before so I dunno. Im not worried about drives crashing, so redundancy isnt exactly necessary. I just had the extra HDD so if I can get a slight read/write boost that would be fun. My ASUS disk may have it, I need to check. But I can also enable raid from my BIOs.
