Radio won't power on

Alright.. It'll be about a week before I can troubleshoot this due to a busy work week. (Unless its an easy fix)

Alright so earlier today I tried installing a JVC KW-AV70bt into my impala but I can't get it to power on. If I push buttons on it, it'll power up and show me a screen that only allows me to eject or tilt the screen, but that'll be all.

I had this problem with my previous radio, which was a JVC touch screen as well. Unplugging the battery terminals for 10 minutes and hooking it back up would do the trick and get it to start up and work. I assumed that would have worked with this one.. but its just not doing it. I double checked all wiring and it seems to be okay.

Any advice?

fuses all seem good. the "detach screen" part works even when the car is off..so I'm assuming its not getting a accessory signal to boot the radio. double checked the wires and they were connected properly.
