radio static

OK. Yesterday I replaced a pioneer 6400 4 channel amp with a JL audio 600/4 amp. Also had some dls components put in. But since the install my CD plays fantastic but the static interference when I switch to the radio tuner is terrible. It was "OK" before the switch although it has never been the same since I had a aftermarket head unit and the amps but in. But now it is really loud static. I have a pioneer DEH-P4100 UB CD receiver. I replaced my OEM head unit in my 04 chevy impala. I did not do the installs myself but went to reputable stereo stores.

Did you get an aftermarket antenna adapter? Sometimes certain adapters can be crap. OEM HU in my '99 Silverado had great tuner reception but when I installed my aftermarket HU reception was poo. About the same in my '08 though. I think it boils down to the antenna, the electrical system and the adapter.

I'm not sure if there is an adaptor or not. The 4 channel amp is installed at the top of the trunk space about midway in between my 6x9's. Stereo shop guy says may have hit the antenna line or something like that.
