I have a 95 honda civic and there is a stock ground wire that goes through the firewall and into the radio area. It has an old school connection that requires the needle connecter etc. (dont know the terminology) anywas i just got a cd8445 and the end of the ground cable for it has the ring already in place. What i was wondering is if i could cut off this wierd connecter and cut off the ring from the unit and just solder the two wires together? i dont know what gauge the civic ground is. thanks for any input.

I think it's kind of hit or miss with the factory radio grounds. I personally prefer to run my own to someplace close on the firewall, especially if you are going to be using amplifiers.
