radeon video cards

I was looking at these and trying to fiqure out what was best

9600-xt 128mB

9800-se 128mB

both are same price and seem to have similar stats, is one more for gaming and one more for video editing or something.

9600-xt 256mB is my current choice but if money gets tight might drop to one of the ubove mentioned.

I have the 9600XT, i'm happy with it for the money, but there are better out now for only a little bit more. Neither of them are used for video editing because they dont' have video inputs.

save your money.. the new fx cards just came out. therefor, ATI will be releasing there new batch of cards soon. When they do, all there older cards will go down in price. give it another month and you'll be able to get a nice card at a better price.

Nvidias new one is suppose to be badfass 6800 ultra. i prefer Nvidia. But if u like Radeon. go with 9800 pro. 256mb.

the new Nvidia will be out in another month or so. But it will ber about 250$. I believe. Radeons best is 250$ also. the new Nvidia smokes all of its other models, by double them FPS that ive seen.

I just got my copy of PC gamer:

new Radeon X800 Pro-- 400$

It gets 58 fps at 1280x 1024. all other settings maxed.

New Nvidia Geforce 6800 ultra-- 500$

It gets 65 fps at 1280 x 1024. all other settings maxed.

Also New Radeon X800 XT P.E. -- 500$

Gets 63 fps at 1280 x 1024. all other settings maxed. Plus u need a bigger power supply to run it. 480 watts.

yup those cards r great.....but i am looking to get a card off ebay for 150 or less.....which is about the proce for the 9700 pro....

i agree id like a card for 100$. That was good as the 6800 ultra but also ran in 1 slot, and didnt require more power.

tell u the truth i would rather have a radeon than get one from nvidia...i have the XFX GeForce 5600 ..256mb card and if sux ......just sold it on ebay..

yea the 5600 isnt the best, I agree. but the 6800 ultra Is suppose to blow away radeons. Even teh 800 XT pro or whatever. Both needs more power.
