Qustion on ground.

I had 9 gauge in the walmart amp kit for my ground at first. It was 3 foot long and people i talked to said that was to small and to long. So today i went to circuit city and the guy gave me a piece of scrap wire around that was 14 inches long of 4 ga. I was hooking this up and could not hook it up to the spot where i had it be for which was the seat bolt that hold my back seat in. Now it is connected to a tab of sheet metal from the inside botom of my trunk wall. will this be okay? Or should i buy longer 4ga and connect other places?

What are you trying to provide a ground for? Is it the Viper 1100.1 that's in your signature?
