"Turn In Your Gun" (Kids Show Episode)

Just watched some kids show that was on the TV after a show I was watching and it royally pissed me off... This whole episode was about some girl being robbed at school cuz some gang wanted her shoes (LOL)... Long story short the school has a big "Turn In Your Gun/Knife" day which local cops and DJ's showed up to try and get all these citizens of this Ghetto community to turn in there "Deadly Weapons"... What really pissed me off was that what they where telling everyone to try and convince them to do this was "Save a life, turn in your gun or knife"... Now tell me what are the odds of that girl being robbed if she would have had a gun herself? And why is it that these good citizens should turn in there guns/knives which would leave themselves defenseless against future muggings from the same gang that could have, and should have, been stopped the first time had the previous victims had a gun or knife?

Sorry for the rant I just dont think it is any place of this station to tell kids these days that guns and knives are dangerous, have no other purpose but to kill, and will only lead to warm.... That should be left up to the parents to teach either way they believe...

There is nothing worse than the government getting people to voluntarily turn in guns. On the other hand, the ones turning in the guns already look to the government for everything else in their life. It will take decades to get them out of the victim mindset and start thinking as an individual.
