i jus rented this movie today and i thought it was pretty good... i thought i had it figured out till the last 20 min. it jus got confusing...any1 who understands the ending please explain...here is what i dont understand....when Mort realizes his "stalker" and "killer" is in his own mind and he uses this fictional character to kill people cuz he cant do it, why does he all of a sudden want to kill his ex and her bf, when he never even thinks of killing them thru the beginning of the movie until the end...any1 know.......pretty good movie by the way...i give it a 7/10

i read the novella of it. great story. good suspense. never seen the movie though.

Okay from what i got of the movie, the reason is simple. Okay obvisouly he was pist off about his wife leaving him for that other guy, and he just went off in his on little world to escape the pain and anger. Which is writing books, I think he found that if he could just keep writing then he could keep his mind off his relationship problems and not to mention that liqor helped to. The only problem with that is he started to loose touch with reality and of course went crazy. If you remeber from the movie he had a hard time coming up with the ending of the book, but to make the ending complete this killer which was like his alter ego in the movie would kill both his ex wife and her boyfriend. I mean he did exactly what the end of the book did he killed them then planted that corn on top of where they were buried. So not only did he get rid of his cheating ex wife, but he completed his book at the same. Why it took so long for him to finally go crazy i don't know, but when he finally lost it, talk about a great ending.

so what you're sayin is he lived out the ending of his book to have the "perfect ending".... and **** if that wasnt creepy him takin a bite out of that corn jus like the way his book ended or how his "alter ego" told him it would end, since his alter ego was his crazy side...

and in the end he starts talkin like his alter ego so yea i agree with what u say twisted.. iwas along the same lines...this movie jus goes to show u dont need chainsaws and 3 foot blades for a movie to scare the hellout of ya.......

Well personally, I thought his alter ego was fukcing badass until you discover he doesn't exist. I thought the whole 'it's in my head' ending was rather cliche personally - like they couldn't think of anything better so they just make him have schizophrenia and that'll tie up all the loose ends.

Well i thought it was typical stephen king, I mean if you have read any of his books you would know that how you think it should end and how stephen has it ends is to different things. I personally would have rather had that killer and johnny deep gone at it and that killer not been inside his head. Don't get me wrong though i loved johnny causing some pain with that shovel and when he put that hat on LOL. I actually thought the movie was going to be a complete joke because it was only rated pg-13, so i waited for it to come out on video and after watching it I would have gladely spent the money to see it in the theatre. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/handclap.gif.0c301076f534e244f0460706894f19e0.gif

has any one seen Butterfly Effect that is one wired movie to. i dont think i could take a child to see that movie, my girl friend had a hard time haddling it.

I liked Butterfly Effect more than Secret Window. I agree, it's weird, but it's a very good weird. I don't really know what's hard to handle about it though? I guess some parts could get some people emotional, but that's it. I liked Butterfly Effect more than Secret Window. I agree, it's weird, but it's a very good weird. I don't really know what's hard to handle about it though?
