"messenger service" popups

Recently had to reformat and forgot how to get rid of these "Messenger Service" popups.

Can somebody remind me please?

Go to administrative tools, services, and stop that service. IIIRC

Oh make it manual start up too.

Also check it in msconfig. Make sure its stopped and not checked to startup on startup. Its a double check, but worth it to check.

I usually set it to disabled....as with about half of the other services in there.

i usually use start - run "services.msc" but it's all the same. most of that crap you can turn off.
