"Combine amps"

Is there any way that I could "combine" two amplifiers? My buddy told me that you could by running som RCA cables from the output of one to the input of the other. Is this true that you can do this. And if so is that all you have to do or is there more to it than that.

Well, no idea what your buddy is talking about. And really no idea WTF you are talking about...LOL

I think what you are talking about is something called "strapping" the amplifiers, where you "bridge" two amplifiers together to a single load (speaker). Is that what you are wanting to do? If so, doing that is not as simple as just running RCA's together. And what amps do you have?

Yeah that's what I was talking about. But I don't even have two amps I was just wandering if what my buddy was talking about could happen. 'Cause I didn't think that anything like that could be done.

Yeah, you can do it with a lot amps. Rockford Fosgate, Crossfire, etc etc.

Though, like I said....it's not a simple as just running two RCA's.

just gotta see if the amps are strappable usually its in the specs / features of it if it can be

Strapping is possible. But not all amps are strappable. And the amps have to be the same amp.

It will list in the manual if this is possible.

You can stap all amps. Richard Clark explains how to do it.

Of course it is 10000x easier if they are "made" to be strappable.

strapping an amp that isnt supposed to be is kind of like running a ohm load lower than 4 ohms on a bridged amp. its a bad idea but its able to be done (for a little while until you fry the amp)
