"Acoustic Sealant" ?

I repo'd a car a while back and the debtor didn't redeem their property. When I was cleaning the car out, I found 7 big ass caulk tubes. The tubes said "acoustic sealant", found something similar online, and it retails for around $18-$22 a tube.

What can I use it for?

I used some of that stuff to fill in the seems when building my sub box

i looked it up and the stuff looks like dap to me. i doubt it's much different

it's for office buildings and cubicles. you seal around all the electrical box cutouts, corners, etc. how annoying would it be if you could hear the person in the office next to you talking on the phone. even worse, they could hear everything you do. it's also rated for fire code. we had to use it in a nursing home to help prevent the spreading of potential fire. had to caulk in all the seams in the drywall, any kind of outlet box, phone box, can lights, etc. i didn't see much of a difference between acoustical sealant and just plain door/window caulking.
