Quiting something you love?

Motocross... It's the sport I've grew up racing. I sweat gallons and gallons of sweat each week toward it. Its just one of those things down deep I realy love. I've broken so many bones for the sport, put so much training, and work into. I've sacrafised, and havn't even had a soda in over 2 years. I just love the sport. Theres only over 20 proffessional spots in the whole world. So I don't think there's a chance of me making it to the pro's.

But turning 16, I need a job, to pay off cell phones, weekend money, etc. And working at 16, I wont be able to get off 2-3 days a week to travel and race the series.

I was looking at getting a job and just getting a 4x4 atv to have fun on, and keep my bike to ride every once in a while. But my dad says I race or sale them. But on the other hand complains about how Im always wanting money. What should I do?

I had to quit eating crappy food so I can lose some weight... does that count? lol

But ya I understand what you mean tho... but Money is VERY important thing in this world.... get used to it.

Explain it to your dad the way you told it to us.

He sounds like a dick anyway- telling you to race them or sell them.

Why not work after school through the week, so you can race on weekends?

i had to give up *** so i wouldn't have anymore kids, and that also forced me to give up drinking cause when i drink is usually when i have ***

I just recently hung up the ole' cleats. I played baseball from the age of 5 up to freshman year in college. Then i tore some ligaments in my shoulder. Just felt it was time to give it up, because things were getting serious with the girlfriend and i was broke, and just had so much work to do. It was a tough decision for me to make. Just one of those things tho. And in case you wondered, me and that girl have since broke up, i have 2 weeks of rehab left, and I have given it thoughts about giving it another go.

ya but its different when you have to quit and give up alot of money to go to school and play it.
