quick sub questions

hey my first post got bumped off the page in like 10 minutes so i guess ill just post it again?? haha

anyway would a JL a1200 amp work with at JL 12w3v3 sub, the guy at the audio store quoted me for this and it doesnt seem right to me, the amp is a full range amp??

second question, how important is it to get a new head unit, the one i have now is a honda accord 06 coupe stock premium audio radio

and could someone direct me to somewhere that explains how to wire in subs and speakers and taking apart head units and stuff, im gonna do a search of the forum right now but i dont know if its car specific
