Quick RCA ?

If I only have 1 sub should there only be one RCA going out from hu to amp??

Most head units will output both a left and a right rca for the subwoofer channel. The amp will accept both inputs and convert it to a mono output if it is a mono amp.

yep. it really depends if the source is mono or stereo. if the RCA outputs from the HU are in stereo, then you want both to go back to the amp, then let the amp sum the signals into mono (you also get a 3dB signal gain).
