i had a pioneer premier 850 and it got stolen, they unhookd the harness and all but decided to cut the rcas...

so i decided im gonna put in a new head unit, so would i have to buy new rcas and run it through.. or is there some cheap fix for the rca problem???

thanks for any input

wow never thought it could work that way... i thought i would have to strip the wires and solder another piece of rca wires to it... but what do i know

thanks for the tips

generally, you never want to directly splice two signal-carrying wires together...unless it's just straight AC or DC power. The same principle applies to RF coaxial cables as well - if there's any change in the conductors, it bumps your impedances all to hell.

exactly...i've gotten a lot of free stuff for putting in head units this way //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

"oh, i've been looking for something like that wiring harness over there..."

for someone that may only buy a new fuse or connectors every few months, the local shops treat me well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
