Quick question - using foam gasket?

Throwing some Ipipe 15"s in a carpeted box in a little bit, and im wondering this. They came with a foam gasket, sticky on one side, foam on the other, assuming its supposed to be stuck to the sub, which is just a metal frame where it mounts. What im confused about is whether to use it or not since my box is carpeted? Not using the felt type carpet either, its the thick "ozite" stuff from walmart. Whats everyone think? I was thinking about putting it under the carpet, around the cutout maybe? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
