Quick Question on Setup

I have...

2 JL Audio 12W3v3 Subs:

Single Voice Coil

2 Ohms

Peak Power: 1000 watts

RMS Power: 500 watts

RE Audio DTS 1000.1 Amp:

RMS - 4 ohms 330 watts

RMS - 2 ohms 560 watts

RMS - 1 ohm 800 watts

I can wire the subs at 4 ohms or 1 ohm. What are your thoughts? Is 800 watts too much for these subs? Thanks a lot for any advice.

Wire them to 1 ohm. If you wire to 4 ohms each sub will only be seeing 150w and taking into consideration box rise and the fact that music is dynamic you probably won't ever see more than like 100w to each sub.

i had two pairs of theses and you dont want to do more than 8 to both of them they said 500 rms and 1 k peak but if you put 5 to each you will fry them it just takes a little bit. on the jl site it says 300 rms is best but id do 400 but not more. id sell the subs and get better ones i had a pair and got another one bc the new set came with a custom box and i thought they would get low, i was wrong but if your looking for sq then there good for you. if your looking for lows they will not do.

I'm looking for sound quality over mind numbing bass, so moving a lot of air isn't that much of an issue. I'll wire them at 1 ohm, keep the gain low and I hope to have a good result. Thanks a lot for the help.
