How to remove Voice Coil from Spider and Cone

I have two old DC 4XL 15 cones. The cones are bad, but the voice coils are in excellent shape. How do I remove them? DC uses that hard black rubber clue. I tried a soldering iron, but I wanted to be sure. It seems like there must be a less risky approach. Thanks

lol, yup, you can do many things, but just pick what you have that works. cut the cone first, and you can cut away at ti with a knife for the bulk, in layers, , just don't put such a load on it as to dent/crease the former, which can be easy to do sometimes.

I would toss it... not worth reusing IMO
