Quick Question got pics and Vid

hey, i was watching my subs hit and one looks perfect while the other, the surround kinda dents in when it hits im linking a vid you can see it, its the sub on the right and the dent is in the bottom right corner. is this a problem?

If you turn down your gains a little bit does it still do that?

Are the subs the same age or is the one on the right older and more broken in?

I would have the lean towards some kind of defect with that sub..

both subs are about a month old got em for Christmas and ima go check it out and let ya know

that's odd for only one sub to do it, are they in a common chamber box? running off the same amp?

its two separate chambers about 1.1 cubes each both subs off the same amp a tra800.2

and with the gains turned down anytime my volume is around 35-40 it starts happening

it is called dimpling...it happens when the sub begins to reach it's mechanical limits.

most likely what it is:

the sub on the right has a lower resistance coil. (assume they are supposed to be 2ohm final load and one is actually 1.8 the other 2) With that being true, the lower resistance sub would be getting more power than the other thus more excursion and reaching mech limits.

ah ok thanks its strange tho because im only pushing about 350-400 rms to each sub, need to get a DMM to make sure and both are 400 rms :/ and yea the box is falling appart its from a old pair of kickers i had and these subs are just tearing it apart

there is another potential problem.....if the box is falling apart, then you get more compression behind one than the other. The right one may be operating in a somewhat "free-air" environment
