quick question for the wrong section

If i have two floor speakers each that can handle 110 watts and a home receiver that is 100 watts per channel. The speakers should be able to handle everything the receiver can throw at them right. Also, if i hook up a RCA to headphone input into the receiver for playing MP3's through my laptop, does that add any wattage?

that is rather incorrect...

even if they are both 100watts rms, the speakers, and the amplifier...

if the amplifier is turned up will into distortion, the speakers will very likely cook.

i wouldnt know...im new to home audio its actually ofr my dorm room the speakers say 110 watts on them doesnt say peak or RMS and the receiver i just know its 100 watts same deal duno which

well ya you can blow 500w speakes with a 100w amp you just got to use you head.

For many receivers, the 100 WPC rating is highly optimistic...

volume I guess...

clarity is good... mids and highs keep up with the bass pretty well...

just overall volume...
