quick question, am I under powering my subs?

I have two sundown audio dual 2s 12 in which can be viewed here

and I bought a RF prime 1200 watt amp which can be viewed here.

Are my subs really that under powered with this amp? If so I was thinking I should trade it to a friend of mine who offered to do so with one of his spare amps (which is a dd audio M1c 2500 watt) plus 50 bucks. What's your opinion on what I should do? Most importantly, would my subs be under powered with the RF amp?

I don't have it wired yet. I've had a couple people scoff at the choice I made with the amp and I'm really regretting the decision. I might even send it back before I hook it up, unless wiring it a certain way would make it worthwhile to keep.

just seen the amp and you would be fine BUT idk if that amp is .5 ohm stable.... i have 2 sa12s dual 4s and that amp would be perfect for mine

you can wire them in series to get a final 2 ohm load.... you would be pushing 800rms to them so yeah you would be ok but they do like more power

Someone told me that since it is 800 rms at 2ohms and I have TWO subs that it will only be 400 rms per sub... is that true? If not how do I wire them like you said so that I could get 800 watts to each? Because I'd be content with that for now.

you will only get 400rms if you give each sub its own channel (experts correct me if im wrong, im still a nooblet).... click on link vvvvvv and look for "woofer wiringwizard" and you should know what to do next.... im on my phone so i cant make pic

its a mono only one channel and luckily Rockford amps are underrated so u might get 1000 watts at 2 ohms but like I say in so many threads on here u should of went with the lanzar opti2000d ($250 onlinecarstereo)puts out 2000 watts rms at half ohm and is also half ohm stable perfect for 2 dual 2s and they could take 2k all day

Do you think it could be underrated even though it's the prime series?

I don't know, that's why I'm asking. How would you even know if it is or not?

No its not. Get dual 4 ohm subs or use that amp for now, start upgrading your electrical, then add some real power

no its not .5 ohm stable so you would have to wire it to 2 ohms and then you would be getting 875 watts out of that amp. thos subs can handle 1000 a piece if your amps gain is set properly. i would look for an amp that would do 2000 at .5 ohm or 2000 at 2 ohm. but lean how to set your gains properly!
