Quick question about wiring

If I buy one alpine type r and wire it at 1 ohm with a aq 1200d, then later buy a second type r, would I be able to rewire to fit the second sub in? sorry im new so im not too informed

if you wire one type r at 1ohm on an aq1200d you'll fry that thing, you're more than doubling the power. get dual 4 ohm wire it to 2 ohms(still over powering this by more than 300rms) but if you get two dual4ohm type rs you can wire them to 1 ohm and run 600rms to them which would be fine.

Get dual 4ohm subs so when u run the single sub you can get about 600 rms to it than when you get the second dual 4ohm sub you can wire to 1 ohm and get the full 1200 rms to both subs.

that amp pushes 870w @2ohm at 14.4v, not 600.

I thought Rs could handle much more than rated

In the right setup I guess.

y not just get both subs at once? then u wont need to get another box or anything. how much u payin for them techronics has em for 130$ shipped.

@Turd - That would be correct if it was someone that is experienced. I doubt it here.

this sounds like the best thing, if you plan on buyin another sub down the line, just save up another $140 or so and get two, you'll be a lot safer, and end up being cheaper and less of a hassle.
