Quick question about fords Mach system (and my new radio)

All right, long time no post, but heres the question. I just ordered a Pioneer radio with 3x RCA outputs (4V) I have hooked up aftermarket radios to Mach systems before with a line level converter and worked good. However, can I go to Radioshack and and get myself some RCA connectors, and leave one end open wire, and one end RCA, then use the RCA to the speaker channels on the mach system? Just seems like if most people use a line level converter, why not just buy the right connectors and use the RCAs? Anyway, thanks for the input.

you could try it, I knew a guy that tried it once, it worked, but the volume was really low. I think the ford mach systems send an ungodly amount of voltage on the signal line that no aftermarket unit would match.

But I would advise against it, mach is similar to monsoon and bose in the way that they don't integrate well with aftermarket pieces.

Well i had it working fine with a line level converter before, which is used to get RCA level output from high level in, so I dont see why I would have a problem using the RCAs, only thing I would worry about is if the output isnt high enough voltage. At wich point I go to the store and buy a adjustable converter and tweak it that way. Either way, gonna try it, will update here with results.

I would always use the adjustable, just speaking from experience that the Mach factory integrations normally don't go all that well.

BTW, I know what a LOC does.

The main problem here is the voltage levels.
