Quick question about disconnecting battery

Alrighty, i have two batteries in my truck. A kinetik under the hood, which is tied to a kinetik underneath the back seat, and the amps are all connected to that rear battery. I want to switch out one of my amps. Will it be safe to just disconnect the ground on the rear battery, or should i disconnect both batteries grounds?

Yes you can just take off the ground of the rear battery.

I would disconnect both grounds. I THINK the front battery is the main ground.

i could be sadly mistaken though..

The front battery is the main ground. You are correct about that. But since he is only changing connections on the rear battery that is the only one that he needs to disconnect, but it wouldnt hurt to disconnect both batteries.

If the back battery is connected to the front battery, he still needs to remove both grounds.

I just take the fuse out by the back battery that connects it to the front battery. That way they arent connected. I probably should have stated that.

That would be a better idea so you don't have to mess with the ground on the front battery.

If the amps' + and - all go to the rear battery, then pulling the rear battery's ground fixes everything.

If the amps are grounded to the chassis, then both grounds need to be pulled.
