quick fiberglass question

im wondering which type of resin to use....i seen the jelly kind...is that okay? and what kindof hardner do i use?....any links to the stuff would be great

just use regular fiberglass epoxy resin. comes in pint and gallon, is just a regular liquid\syrup consistancy. the MEKP comes with it, it is the hardener, if you dont have enough MEKP [methyl ethyl keyotene peroxide if you wanted to know], you should be able to find some on the shelf where you are buying the resin at. MEKP is all the same, its just a chemical. it looks just like water.

but you CAN get it in a paste - so DO NOT buy the paste lol. the paste is for bodyfillers and things that are a paste.

alright thats whats up...cause i got some giftcard for autozone and advanced but i noticed that advanced only carrys the jelly resin......could i use that okay?

buy your body filler and sand paper and shit there, jump over to the other place for your resin.

you still need bondo for it, unless you plan to put some hammerpants on it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif carpeting or covering it will still show the imperfections (big ones, at least)

oh well i got bondo and hardner i'll touch it up, but whats the diference between the jelly resin and epoxy resin

jelly will not work for this. its a ****in jelly, how do you expect that to soak into your fiberglass? hell, try it if you really want to waste money - but it will be quite a pain in the ***, it will be like trying to get jello to soak into a t-shirt - and this jello does not melt when it gets warm.

sorry req i just didnt know, i just needed my autozone card to pay for half the money for my clutch....maybe they'll have regular resin at advanced...ill check though

see if they carry polyester resin. mine does here.

I always seem to run out of MEKP before I run out of resin... Maybe its just me, though.

Might wanna pick up an extra tube of MEKP.
