Quick Basslink Orientation Question. . .

First, let me simply state that while I am a car audio enthusiast, I am altogether too poor to really attempt anything fantastic. I'm not looking for any modification to the system (EG: No new components) and unfortunately, the car is the only one I've got.

A friend of my boss pretty much *gave* me an Infinity Basslink to play with for however long I want. My car is really not suited to fit large pieces of electronics, so I'm kind of in a bind. Here's the situation. . .

1989 Mercury Tracer Hatchback. Small, economical, likely to burst into flames if looked at sideways. Fairly similar in size/shape to a Mazda 323 or Ford Escort. The "cargo" area on this little beast is nothing to marvel at, but it gets the job done. My preferred installation location would be one of the back corners, but that can't be done and still retain access to the things I need (spare tire, tools, fluids, etc.).

In lieu of good space, is there good reason not to mount the Basslink in an upright position attached to the back of one of the back seats? They fold forward for cargo carrying, so imagine the box standing upright facing front when the seat is folded forward, but up and to the rear when the seat is in the normal position.

Will this be acceptable? Am I shaking up a big can up whoop-*** and then popping the top all over myself? The Basslink has all the fun adjustment knobs to mess with the phasing and everything, so hopefully with enough tweaking it can sound decent.

Let me reiterate. I'm not trying to win any awards or shake my wisdom teeth out. I just want something that sounds good and lets me feel it in my chest.

Thanks!
